A problem that gave me fits on my 89T 4 door is a little wire that runs off the alternator to the block. Look closely to the right of the dipstick tube. If this is bad or loose your battery will not charge completely. I had it replaced once and no more low voltage problems @ start-up. Then about six months later it worked loose or was never tightened completely and the same symptoms occured. It takes a tork tip to tighten it at the block. Disconnect the battery before messing with it as you might ground out something on the alternator by mistake.
