How far in the future is this? You might consider just getting AAA Plus - here in California it's $72 a year and nets you up to 100 miles of towing. Very convenient - I recently used it to get a '78 99T from San Jose to Sacramento.
Short of that, I've towed an '85 SPG via a UHaul tow dolly. It was a 500 mile tow, from Los Angeles to Sacramento, by a '99 Toyota Tacoma. The rear end was no problem, but the front end was. I STRONGLY recommend removing the front lower airdam (it's simple - 8 screws or so) or it'll probably get damaged trying to get it onto the dolly. I think the same is true of the full trailer, though - it's the angle of the ramps that's the problem.
