Wally and all non-believers,
ECUs only fail on Mitsubishis and GM cars.
Bosch components hold up very well. The only Bosch ECU I had fail, simply did not energise the fuel pump circuit.
Obtain a pin voltage chart and see that you ECU is RECEIVING what it needs (positive 12v and grounds.)
Unplug the mass airflow sensor and try to run the car without touching the gas pedal.
Do you have proper fuel pressure and spark?
