Springs/shocks for 87 SPG: Suggestions?

Suggestions sought to renew and tighten handling of 87 SPG. Original springs & shocks appear to be showing their age... not unlike their owner.
Relevant factors: I don't mind a stiff ride and would prefer stiff to soft. Precise road control desired.
I've had this girl since '89; never noticed a stiff ride when springs & shocks were "new." Now, with 200k, I haven't noticed anything too dramatic, but the ride seems a little too soft, a little too much float.
Suggestions welcomed. Thanks.
