Alternator? Maybe. But many of the stock Clarion radios have problems with cold-solder joints for the ground-to-case cracking. That causes the squawk. If you're electrically handy, you may want to go in there, find the joint, and resolder it.
Then again, you may want to replace the radio with something more recent. I just replaced my Clarion with a newer radio/cassette. I never knew that the stock speakers could produce such good sounds!!
But, while you're thinking alternator, you may want to replace the voltage regulator/brushes assembly and/or check the ground wire from the alternator before you start having other electrical problems.
