Hi.
As I've mentioned, I've just started taking an auto maintenance class at Montgomery College in Montgomery County MD. Anyone else want to take the class too (probably not too late to join in!)?
Anyway, some fellow just touched the smaller diam. hose that connects between the PCV and the throttle body and the darn thing just broke. I saw what he did and he barely touched it (the hose is hard as heck!). Nonetheless, since it broke the check valve and at 10:00 last night there was not a Saab parts counter available, the folks at the school took a length of hose and connected it to each of the two points (the pcv and the throttle) but the two pieces were not connected. They used golf tees to plug up each side and told me to get a check valve soon.
I'll got try to get one today, but as I drove home last night and to work this AM, I felt that the car seemed peppier than it had. What's going on with that hose? I have to admit, I don't know what the pcv does either (I do know that it stands for positive crankcase ventilation!).
Anyway, thanks for your input.
-Michael
