Depends on what you mean by touch...couldn't resist. To get at the inner drivers you have to pull the tripods out of the drivers, but you do not have to pull the CV joints off the other end of the axle. To pull the tripods out of the drivers you need to remove or swing out the wheel hub and spindle. I always do this by removing the balljoint bolts from both the upper and lower control arms and pulling the hub off the axle, and then pulling the axle out of the driver. But, I suppose you could just remove both lower control arm balljoint bolts and just one upper control arm balljoint bolt so you could swing the hub and axle out, with it hanging from one of the top bolts. Unless I had to do this every day, I think I'd still pull the whole works out to get more room to work on the inner drivers.
