yeah man,i could'nt find one locally,i tried asking around at all the local indy saab shops(for86spg)to no avail, there were 2 nice sounding 86 spg's on saabnet-but,both in Cali...so i gave up on finding & discovered the 88 in Memphis-he wanted 3500 for it,but i got it for 2700 due to cosmetics(cracked clearcoat hood, cracked dash, headliner, bad scuffbump damage to r rear wheel)(needs rebuilt p steer rack ASAP,balljoints, shocks & all "tuneup" stuff)-i think i got a good deal-i'll be able to source all the lookgood parts at English-Swedish spares in Atlanta, they're great!...i drove it back 375 miles back from Memphis & it runs like a top(123K miles) & the trans feels solid...i dig the black paint too, very menacing!!!-1988 900 u.s. import=28,321...1774 spg and about 410 in black,so i guess its fairly rare = ' ) ...i've already decided against the snubnose front(maybe i'll change my mind again)-but,the restyle is supposed to have 5% less air resistance & be 33% lighter(but i ran my 86 w/o bumpers!)-believe it or not,i can really feel the spg's slipperiness compared my my 86T,but now all my efforts are focused on bringin' it up to factory spec, then the real fun begins!!---and hey,how about Aero seats?!?...will they bolt right in on a p-restraint car???i'm sure they're difficult to find, when they do come up,whats asking prices like(my guess is 900-1300??)-the Aero seats would be supercool!!!-my 86 has a 90 motor innit that was built by Group6(don't ask!),it just requires a freshup(rings),but i'll prolly go ahead & install JE pistons, crower or pauter rods, lightened valves & possibly a lightened crank(thats my masterplan anyway, glad i can kinda take my time w/ the rebuild)-the G6 motor is supposedly a skip barber unit(i.e.:stock,haha)-but it does get up & go,a flowed head makes a big difference!-i sold the volvo 142 a coupla mos. back & don't really miss it,i almost made a big mistake wanting to buy a 73-78 fiat spider w/ intentions to build a Fiat-Abarth 124CSA rally stradale replica-man am i glad i came to my senses & got another saab!-i was under the romantic spell of dual webers,hi compression rate, wild cams, open top motoring & chuckable sports driving-you shoulda seen some of the fiats i looked at!-they rust in the desert & all of 'em seems to have been thrashed-but hey,i still wound up w/ a classic right?-the vintage car can wait till retirement!-alfa romeo 1969 1750 gtv bertone coupe gtam replica, haha = ' )
