sorry...hit enter too soon. i believe that it can be bypassed with a piece of wire in the amp socket. do not know which two terminals but it is in the bentley manual. not suggested for long term because of impedance mismatches and current drains on ign electronics i assume. at least it will tell you if it is bad though. it could just be the fusebox connection underneath socket as well. never had to futz with them before but i recall reading it whilst chasing electrical bugs.
