AARRGGG, BAD CAR! need advice! Posted by Ryan [Email] (#2222) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ryan) on Wed, 7 Feb 2001 22:05:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi,
Here's the scoop so far. My 86 spg, rear ended a while ago, is now a parts car, so i have a car full of fairly good usable parts.
Now the problem, i jsut picked up a 85 900T 5 spd. When test driving it, it was fine, but now, the clutch seems to stick, ESPECIALLY when cold. Sometimes the clutch pedal although returning to it's original position without a foot on it, there's nothing there if you press on it. Now for the tranny, i knew that you had to hold it in 2nd, and was planning a tranny swap in the comming months with my spg parts car. Since it seems that the clutch sticks, it doesn't want to go into gear (almost like the feeling of trying to shift into gear without your foot on the clutch). When starting the car, with it in reverse and foot on clutch, it will want to drive in reverse still, as if foot is not on . The car drives much better when it's warm, but trying to get it started and until it's into the green in temperature, it's terrible. What is wrong? is it clutch related? What can i do?
Thanks for the tips
Ryan
