Ken,
Now we're making progress. I'm staring at the wiring diagram for the starting system on your car. It shows two wires going to the starter, one straight from the battery (30) and the other coming from the ignition switch (50). Wire (50) looks like
(ignition switch)-------(B)-----(C)------(starter)
B: neutral safety switch (automatics only)
C: 29-pin bulkhead connector.
From Bentley
Fault Tracing
1) Check for battery voltage at terminal 30 of the starter.
2) Check for battery voltage at terminal 50 of the starter when the key is in the start position. If no voltage is present, check bulk head connector, ignition switch and ignition relay. (If you have an ignition relay it is located on the main relay panel, on the row closest to the fender and closest to the fuses.)
3) Check for contuinuity between the engine block and battery (-) terminal.
I would strongly suggest that you buy a Bentley manual.
Todd
