I always buy trans bearings/internal metal parts from the dealer. I get a 15% discount from them as a "saab club" member and I always know that a wrong part will be easily exchanged. not that the sponsors have bad service or parts but for critical items like that the few extra dollars spent is not so bad for peace of mind. you can replace every bearing, syncro, shift fork, layshaft, and chains for around 1000. (chains are almost 300) i also replaced diff spiders. it is so much work to do your own trans and SOOO much cheaper that doing it right is the only option. a few of us have trans rebuild exp, just post q's.. all measurements and setups are easily accomplished. get a haynes...yes HAYNES..for trans rebuild. also chapter 4 of bentley from dealer.
