On your ball joints, once you're set up to do 2 of them, it's only an hour longer to replace the other 2. Unless it's sleeting, that is. Then it's forever. :-)
Replace the boots now before they open wide and let in all sorts of grit.
Replacing the CV boots isn't major surgery and it's easy do do when you're doing the ball joints, since you need to tak at least one of the joints off on each side to remove the axle. To replace the boots, you need to remove the axle nut. Which isn't bad - 24" breaker bar with a 1-1/4 socket will do it. Then you need to tap the axle in with a piece of wood or soft mallet. Actually, look at Jeff & Royce's site for more info. They show it better than I can describe it.
