That's the basic idea...you put the car in first gear with the emergency brake on, the hood open, and give it a little gas as you let out the clutch a bit in first gear, and watch for the engine to lift up in the front/feel in the shifter.
If you have about 15 minutes, you can visually inspect the mount, too. It's right up near the radiator fans. To get a look at the front mount, you have to remove a few of the turbo pipes(lossesn hose clamps) and the u-shaped safety bracket over the mount(two bolts). Then you should be able to see if the rubber mount has any tears in it. With the car in gear (motor off!!), rock the car back and forth and while you watch the mount and you will see it separate.
