The power window switches in my '86 SPG and from my old '86T (switches located between front seats) would roll the driver's window all the way down at once if pressed hard. If lightly pressed, the switch behaved normally. Even though they are 2-pole switches, I think there must be a spring-loaded contact inside which triggers the "down all the way" feature.
My old '83T had the window switches on the dashboard, on either side of the cigarette lighter. Never noticed any "down all the way" behavior from those. I've never had any problems with the window switches, so I've never had the urge to dismantle one to see the mechanism inside.
Usually my driver-side window has a "down-MOST-of-the-way" behavior when I push the switch hard. Anyone care to guess why? Is there some type of resistance when the window is 2" from the bottom, or is the window just too slow and some kind of timer shuts off before the motion is complete?
