I never thought it was worth the money. then i finally relented and tried amsoil series 2000 0-30w for "one time only". I was extremely suprised at how much better it ran when cold. I have a filtering arrangement that will let my 86 spg go for at least 10k between changes. since the engine is brand new i now think it is a good investment and will stay with it. for an old engine I am still not convinced it is worth the $ and i always hear of people on this board suddenly developing seal leaks after switching to full synth. i assume that means the seals were about to let go anyway. amsoil a little spendy for 3k changes but syntec is not so bad. people run these things for 150k with dino and regular changes so it is always a tossup as to change or not.
