If you're often in Bangor, then Silver's is your best bet, at least from my experience. There may be others in the Portland area but I haven't needed to seek them out (yet). They're on the Veazie road, the one that goes from the Oronoka to EMMC along the Stillwater. They've been there forever, I guess. Huge junkyard. They have aerial photos in the lobby of the yard from the 40's at least and it was big _then_.
As for a mechanic, umm... The dealer in Bangor is excellent, but expensive. They do quality work by me and have stood behind it- they replaced a water pump and a year and a week later it died again- replaced free, even labor. There's a fella in the Bomarc industrial park out past the Bangor airport who did stuff for me 7 or 8 years ago for a reasonable price. I dunno if he still does Saab work- I think I saw him on the internet recently, proud of doing Porsche racing. I forget his name off the top of my head...
