first, what was changed on the 92-93 gearboxes to differentiate them from the 89-91? Second, what gearing differences are there? I have 2 1992 models and would like a bit taller gearing. Currently 3200rpm is 75 mph in 5th. It would be nice to have a few less rpms in 5th. first seems quite short (though not as short as our old Volvo 244 DL) and seems that a little taller here would also be acceptable. I understand that the input gearset is taller for the NA transmissions. Would a swap to these gears be a good solution? It would be nice to know what the actual gear ratios are and then calculate the difference with the different drop gears. Thanks
