I had a similar problem on my 92 saab 900S. I jump started my brother's car in the rain and when I got home, the fan stayed on for 30min. I pulled the relay so it couldn't kill the battery.
It took me about a month to find the problem. Thank god it's winter time because I was driving around without the relay in place so my fan would not come on.

One day I was trouble shooting the problem with my neighbor and he pulls the wire off the thermal sensor on the radiator. The fan stopped!

I got a new thermal sensor from the dealer ($42 w/ gasket) and the problem was solved.

Make sure your relay is good before playing with the thermal sensor.
