I have an '85 900T 16V, owned since new, I have not experienced insulation deterioration, everywhere I've looked, it has been OK, replaced the brake MC last year, the major bundles routed under the MC were in good shape. I think SAAB did a major change in suppliers sometime in '85, mine was manufactured in February, hence was probably assembled from parts ordered in early '84, maybe even some of the same stuff they had used in the '84 900T 16V sold on the Continent. Sorry, good luck. Bentleys wiring diagrams are good.
