Well here is a back yard type test- With the hollowed out cat my top speed on a stretch of 8 lane flat highway was approx 185 km/hr or 115.62 mph----with a regular catalytic my top speed now is approx 198 km/r or 123.75 mph. -----I beleive that without a cat and with a straight pipe replacing the cat my car would even be a bit faster- based on some feedback and my way of thinking I beleive it's very simplistic to assume less restriction = moreHP although I do agree with this up to a point. If that was the case manufacturers would just increase exhaust diameters. There are more engineering considerations such as exhaust pulse rates etc. - valves, camshafts, etc. ----In my mind anyways my simple amateaur test is more proof than the "up-to hp claims" from performance shop sales persons. I say show me before I fork out $$$$$$$. If you just want the performance roarrrr sound get a nail and punch a few holes in your muffler.
