Hell
Oops, hello I mean
I 've half killed my turbo few das ago; How ?
after having put apart some of the intake manifolds to change the hooter valve on my 86 aero, I began to put the pipes back in position. Great. On the pipe between AMM & turbo, two holes, on for a rubber line to solenoide valve, the other from head cover, whith a mettalic think coming in the pipe. Re-great. But it was a litle bit difficult to do. somehow ( this has been dicovered LATER ) while I was trying to put this pipe in position, the metallic thing pushed the ruber ring used to make the connexion IN the intake manifold . so...
1) air leak ( reason of my poor idle )
2) the rubber ring went directly in the turbo
RESULTS:
few days later, the car was not running so good, I put the manifolds apart again, noticed that the ring was missing, and looked into the turbo:
bended and broken blades, and found rubber pieces in the intercooler.
This said, with this big air leak and bended blades , boost can still go up to red zone.
fellows saabophiles, don 't be dumb like me.
