1)Try tightening the turbo/exhaust bolt to see if that stops the leak before you replace the gasket, you might get lucky. However, greater than 50% of the time the loose flange will cause the gasket to blow out.
2)I think you mean a valve cover bolt rather than a head bolt, which is not nearly as big a problem!! Check to see if the bolt is broken off in the hole. If not you can replace the bolt. If the bolt is broken, you should extract the bolt with an e-z out kit. If it's too tight for an ez out, you can drill it out and rethread with a helicoil.
3) Either way, you should replace the valve cover gaskets and be sure to seal the areas at distributor and the firewall end corners with RTV. If you want to delay the bolt replacement project, you might try RTV to seal around the missing bolt as a temporary fix.
4) When you pull the valve cover, replace the plastic/rubber cam chain guide on the valve cover. This might stop your ticking noise. If it doesn't stop, the chain may be going. Visually check the cam chain for wear and the sprockets for tooth decay. The chain can still be worn despite everything looking OK. If you have time, you can check the chain tensioner on the head for remaining extension capacity. if it's at 11mm, the tensioner has done all it can do and you will need a new chain. Fairly big job, and you can probably delay until after your trip.
