Got back my 93 75k mile 900 S Saab which had had the timing chain split.($1,800 later) and I cant believe I'm saying this , but boy am I glad!
Hopefully with proper maintanence it will last a long time to come.

I'm sure what Im about to say has been discussed in the past and this is not to say anything against the 9-3 car or start a flame (they both have their good and bad sides and I actually do like the new outside styling and that they kept alot of the features and feel of the old), but coming from a first time saab owners perspective my wife and I actually prefered the older 93 900 to the 2001 9-3 in perceived visibility, handling, and comfort/room and ease of where everything fits and works. As far as comfort I just couldn't get a comfortable seating position in the new car, maybe leather seats would have helped that and maybe wider tires would have helped the new car feel on par. The only thing I liked more was that the new car had turbo but then again so do the old 900's. of course negatively my old car has a sqeak or two. I suppose maybe I'll trade the 900 for a 900 turbo if I ever get lucky and run across one with low miles and in good shape, being that its my wifes car and she doesn't care I'm not to motivated to do that unless the right thing comes along.
