JR,
Same thing happened on my old 99e and it was the dumb door switches which are hooked in SERIES. If one goes bad the dome light won't work. Same exact parts as my old 99e as well. These switches are expensive too, especially considering SAAB is the only car in existence where the switches die before the rest of the car does.
Disconnect the switches one at a time and touch the wires together. When the bad switch is bypassed, the dome light will come on.
