AC compressor removal for water pump job

I'm getting ready for the big day tomorrow, when I will try to replace the water pump on my 91 900 NA. I have studied the Bentley, looked at all the posts on water pumps, and looked at the condition of my hoses. My mechanic suggested that you can do the job without removing the AC compressor but, since it is my first time on this car, I much rather have a good view of the condition of the surface after removing the pump. I tried to look at how to move the AC compressor. It is mounted on a plate with four torx screws but one of these is difficult to access due to the inlet manifold. So, from reading the posts, I guess this is why you have to remove the mounting plate by taking out the hex nuts and this bolt on the lower part of the bracket. This seems to be the tough part. Would a box end wrench work on this bolt? Any suggestions are welcome.

Also, I bought a Laso pump but it does not come with instructions. It has two gaskets. Can I just use the one I need to replace the pump and leave the other one in place behind the pump? I have been reading about people using blue RTV silicone gasket stuff or Locktite 518 for the gasket to get a better seal. I was just planning on just using the gasket without anything on there. Am I wrong?

I will start first thing tomorrow morning so I'm sure I will be psoting questions/problems before the morning (PST) is over. Thanks in advance for any additional suggestions (other than those posted over the last couple of months).
