Hello folks, yesterday I installed new bulbs that i bought from Susquehanna Motorsports (http://www.rallylights.com) and I'm pretty impressed. First, i installed 2 new H3 fog light bulbs which are made by Hella called "Yellow Star". I wasnt expecting much yellowness in the beam, but they are about the same price as normal H3 bulbs. Btw, if you're not familiar, yellow beams are more weather friendly and used extensively in Europe where the lighting laws are not so backwards :) They reduce glare from fog, rain, etc. Anyway, so I installed 85w bulbs in the fogs and I'm quite impressed by the beam. It's quite yellow and similar to the ones I've seen with actual Yellow lenses. It doesnt look very yellow when you look at the fog lights themeselves but the beam is nicely yellow. I cant wait to try these out in the fog or rain!
Next, I have e-code headlights on my 86 SPG and I was using the used bulbs that came with my used lights and one of them was getting dimmer. I figured I'd buy new ones now since they are inexpensive and i'm already paying for shipping. I ordered Hella Xenon bulbs which are supposedly a bit brighter because of xenon gas cooling the filament(blah blah blah, who knows) but they do seem brigher and they are normal 60/55w H4's. The beam also seems whiter. There is no blue coating or blue tint to the beam, fortunately. They only cost about $11 each and are much less than PIAA's expensive xenon bulbs which have the same result. I should buy these and sell them on e-bay because those PIAA bubls (the real ones) go for a lot of money. Just kidding. Just thought i'd share this with the board. Check out the web site I mentioned above if interested.
