1)Take off the connector on the knock sensor clean the pins with some solvent spray let it dry and reconnect. If it is a bad connection giving false knock signals, then under boost the APC turns down the boost and you have the loss of power felling as you descibes.
2) It could be a sticky solenoid valve, sometimes it works well, sometimes not, take off the hoses spray it inside with solvent, blow it clean, spray it with wd-40 or similar and blow off the excessive oil. Put it back and go for a ride. (In my case it was a sticky solenoid that caused similar problems that you both are describing.
