'90 SPGs make 175hp and 195 lb ft of torque. My advice is to chuck that Chilton's manual out the window and buy a Bentley. Chilton manuals are hardly reknowned for their accuracy... The Bentley is as good as the factory manuals for 99% of the work a DIYer will attempt.

For the steering wheel, best bet is to take it to a dealer. No, you won't be able to accidentally set off the airbag and blow your face off, but you may trip a fault in the ECU and thus need to head to the dealer anyway to reset it. If you're dead set on doing it yourself, disconnect your battery 24 hours before starting work, and the SRS system should discharge in that period of time. So long as you don't have battery power, the SRS system is completely off. Be cautious while working - the coil is very fragile and very easy to break.

Door windows are a snap to replace. Lower the window 1/4 way, pop off the door panel, and start taking it apart. Be careful not to damage the weatherstripping seals in the process.
