There're 3 schools of thought on the hose material:
One school of thought says that rubber hose is good for 8 or 10 years. Replace your bad hoses with rubber hose and replace it when it goes bad again down the road.
The second says use the good stuff (silicone) whan you replace the hoses and forget it.
And another says use clear vinyl tubing and replace that when it goes bad.
I subscribe to the second school of thought, but the other 2 work ok. The cost of silicone tubing if you buy it uncut at a place like NOPI is around $1 US a foot.
If you get 10 ft of hose, that should be more than enough for the hoses under the dash.
