The A/C compressor is bolted to a bracket, and it's that bracket you need to remove with the compressor attached to it. There will be two bolts on the head and another bolt *below* the alternator - it's a 12mm and a royal PITA to get to. Once you have that bracket removed, lift it and the compressor onto the windshield and leave it there while you do your work. You should NOT attempt to remove the hoses or in any other way dismantle the compressor itself - you'll leak R12 into the atmosphere which is poisonous (not really life threatening unless you snort it) but you will also contaminate the A/C system which will reduce its effectiveness and longevity.
I would strongly recommend picking up a Bentley manual before going any farther. The $40 it will cost you will not only simplify your life, but may also prevent avoidable mistakes. Saabs are a wee bit quirky, and without the right info working on them can be problematic.
