I decided to fully remove the automatic seatbelt wiring harness.
It turned out to be quite the task. You can tell the entire system is an add-on, because it was tie-wrapped around the original wiring harness and pulled out rather easily.
First, you have to remove all of the interior. Including the knee bolster and shifter console. Start with the main harness under the seat. Unscrew and start to pull out APC looking computer and all releays. Find the motor plug on each side of the car under the back seat.
Once you've gotten this far, you notice a huge harness of wires that goes in all directions. The bigger one goes down the to the center console and then seperates along the front seat beam. There is one piggy back connector on the shifter. I think this is the reverse light connector.
Some wires go into the seat heater plug, and then others keep going on each side of the car. Remove the wires in the seat heater plug using a small flat head screwdriver.
Follow the wire up the side of the car and unplug from the engine bay.
This connects to the door sensor.
Pull the wire to the inside of the car and go to the other side.
On the passenger side, there is the main power wire connects to the distribution block. No wonder why those things will kill your battery fast!!!
After unclipping all of the tie-wraps, the whole thing will pull out of the car intact!
This is definately a 1-2 beer job. Just pulling out of the interior will take an hour, and then you gotta put it all back together again.
This is a great time to really clean the carpets, and clean the shifter console.
