85 900S - Starter, rebuilt vs. new?

Well, it's finally warm enough here in MN that I want to begin working on the 85 900 after it's been sitting for about a month. Poor thing.
So, I need to get a starter for it. I've heard some conflicting opinions about rebuilt vs. new. What's the conventional wisdom out there about rebuilt starters? Also, any recommended suppliers for this? I haven't shopped around yet but if anyone knows of a good deal, I'd appreciate it.
By the way, it's a pretty worn 85 900S (8-valve). I'll be doing the work myself (that doesn't worry me much).
Thanks!
Bryce
