Thoughts on alarm for 900 92 convt after lockout--Too Easy!

A friend locked the keys in my 92 900 convertible this past weekend via passenger side door when she ran out to get something she forgot.
So I called AAA. A locksmith came. He was jamming some bent metal rod in the passenger door and I was cringing at the force he was using.
I noticed that I could just use a thin stiff metal wire (Coathanger, screwdriver etc.) and stick it in between the front & rear windows rubber seal and easily lift up the lock without much effort. I opened it much to the chagrin of the locksmith myself.
This got me thinking that maybe even a simple alarm would make me a little happier to know that if someone popped the lock the alarm would go off attracting it least a momentary bit of attention. I just bought the car a few months ago and looked for the alarm under the back seat once and did not see it. Nothing in my bentley manual or on any postings is specific as to where the saabguard alarm actually is to see if it is disconnected or what. Can some one point out specifically where it is and how to check it out quickly?
Thought two - if it doesn't work - what is a good alarm to throw in that might take advantage of the exisiting wiring (and perhaps sensors) for the old saabguard alarm and lock/unlock the doors?
Thanks
CB
