Hard to be a prophet in your own land.

For many years, Saab car sales languished as some cult vehicle while their owners, a noble and hardy lot, soldiered on.
Now, the time has come to change all that in some not insubstantial way.
Yesterday, beginning in LAST place among sports sedans you can vote on at motortrend.com with a paltry 4.19%, we now own SECOND place; just below the revered BMW in road machines you would select for a cross-country trip.
Partly at fault for the dismal sales showing over the years were the autowriters. Never quite up to the task of providing a balanced assessment of the Saab, autowriters are now faced with reconciling the numbers in their current online poll.
"Torque steer" and "quirky"; "hoary" and "cultish" - be damned.
Call me iconoclastic but the Saab was always a better buy than a Bimmer.
If you haven't already done so, VOTE VIGGEN at motortrend.com.
