OK, I gotta know. Are all car ingnitions this, er, less-than-friendly? I mean, now that it's done, it wasn't that big of a deal (and kinda fun to see how it works). But come on, wacky triangle nuts? Gotta pick up shifter/ignition housing, twist it over (but the dash center console has to be loosened first), unscrew from the *bottom*, but then remove the *top* cover, watch that neither of those little pins fall into the nether-regions.... Thank goodness the lock cyl is ok (i think) 'cause I couldn't figure out how to physically remove the shifter/ign assembly as Bentley calls for.
At first I thought: Ok, maybe this makes it harder to steal. It definitely confounds the non-saab mechanics (so I found out once). But since the wire connectors are *not* under the "iron curtain" like everything else, isn't that a mute point/just hot wire? Ah, SAABs... such a fine line between genius and, well, questionable....
