You must use your parking brake if you park on a hill!!
IF you had an automatic transmission, engaging PARK would lock up the transmission, and should hold the car on a hill.
However, a manual trans, left in gear, merely engages the engine. It does not 'lock' your drivetrain. The engine (and drivtrain)is still able to turn. The only thing keeping your drivetrain from turning (and your Saab from rolling down the hill) is the compression of the engine. Compression will slowly leak down and your Saab will roll away.
Please use your parking brake...
