I had a '96 NG900SET CV for 4 years. Except for the 5th bow motor I didn't have any problem with this car. You can lower the top within seconds without leaving the car and you don't have to put a boot cover on.
I now have 2 '92 900 SPG CV and it's true that if I dont want to have bad spots on the fabric I have to leave my seat and give the top a little help while folding down (if I want to put on the cover I'll have to get out anyway). But what a difference : the classic 900 is just unique. Only look at the position of the engine in the bay, listen to the chain noise of the transmission or to the engine sound (I could listen to this engine idling for hours). Altough the NG had also 185 HP the C900 is much quicker due to the different transmission ratio (except for the top speed but who really needs that).
To tell you the truth, I really enjoyed my SET and I never had trouble with it (in fact, the car was new) but I still get excited and my heartbeat speeds up every time I get into one of my 4 C900's; a NG900 would never do this to me !!
N.B. On a C900, there's always something you can fix or improve, a good reason to come to this BB : isn't that great ??
