A bad wheel bearing is generally felt as a growling type vibration through the steering wheel and increases with speed. If you feel it while turning right (highway on and off ramps are perfect for this) it is your left bearing (the side shouldering the load) and turning left it would be the right bearing.
A CV joint is heard more than felt. At low speeds while turning you will hear a clicking noise. The right is bad if you hear it while turning left, and the left is bad if heard while turning right (loaded sides again).
I agree with the others that a rebuilt drive shaft (term is half-shaft) is the best way to go. If you can replace ball joints, you can replace a shaft. Total job start to finish takes me a little less than two hours (about three bottles of Sams or Bass)
Good Luck, Al.
