You're buying a 7 yr old car w/80,000 miles on it.
Make sure EVERTHING works before you buy.
Plan on $500-1000 1st year, unless records verify that more than just basic maintanance has been done.
Items:
Replace trans fluid, final drive fluid, and power steering fluid
Brake pads and shocks?
Condition of top (it could last a few more years, but small imperfections
will get bigger, esp if out in the sun most of the time)
Spark plugs,wires cap and rotor
All vaccuum lines
All belts, and maybe the voltage regulator
I'm not being alarmist, this is reality.
HOWEVER, I bought my 87 cvt 1 1/2 ago, and it's truly a car to fall in love with. This is my 4th Saab, all purchased with plenty of age and miles, and I've found I'm just not happy with anything else.
These cars have never left me stranded over hundreds of thousands of miles.
If you do the preventive maintanance, no problem!!!
