Need new exhaust - any ideas?

Hello. Today after my first class, I decided to crawl under my car and figure out where this new exhuast hiss was coming from. Well, the rear silencer on my 86 900S 16V was completely broken off and rusted from the first muffler coming from my midpipe, so I ripped it off and threw it in my apartment dumpster laughing my ass off! I knew I was going to need a new exhaust soon, but not this soon! Anyways, I now need a new cat-back exhaust and I was wondering what my alternatives were. I am looking for a system that isn't stainless, but is of better quality. I have heard some crappy things about chains like Midas, and I was wondering what is available to me in regards to a better performance and better sounding system for a non-turbo 900. I am located in Central PA. I am keeping my stock manifold and cat. There are in good shape. Also, would adding a K&N filtercharger setup (getting rid of the stock canister and bolting directly onto the AMM) make any difference in performance if I would add a less restrictive exhaust system? Any suggestions?
