To remove the alternator bolt, undo two of the bolts holding the bracket. One is accessed from the top and also holds the AC bracket. A 12 mm box wrench will get it, particularly if you bend it a bit to provide a better angle. The second bolt is on the left side as you look at the bracket and can be accessed with a socket on an extension.
When you've undone those bolts, the bracket will pivot on the lower bolt (no need to undo) and voila, the long bolt comes out without problems.
