Well, the HT line from the coil usually has a bright fat BLUE spark; I haven't seen an orange one. But I digress.
It sounds like the cap/rotor is wrong somewhere...all the cap/rotor does is direct the spark to the correct plug...for example, if all the plugs were out and laid side by side with the plug wires hooked up and someone cranked the engine, you would be able to SEE the plugs firing.
Since you don't get a spark at the plug, the problem must be between the HT wire from the coil and the plug. The most common problem is the rotor was installed incorrectly or the rotor has backed off the shaft and is no longer indexed to the shaft. It's supposed to be glued on with green loctite but no one has that stuff; I use a dab of crazy glue.
If the rotor is still indexed to the shaft (pop the cap and try to twist the rotor...if it twists there's your problem) you might have bad plug wires. After that, you just have to look for strange stuff...there have been cases where a distributor cap made it to the parts shelf with, for example, no contacts or a missing contact.
