Well I just finished putting an 8" sub in the center console of my 88 900S. I used the instructions found on (I think) the Saab Team Turbo Europe. I found the link a long time ago somewhere here on the bulletin board, and in their website is a DIY insturction on how to put an 8" in the center console. Well, what blew me away was the sound quality. I have 2 12"s in the hatch of my car, and just for the fun of it, I disconnected them to see just how much bass and sound quality they were putting out. I was completely taken by surprise. With the 8" in the center console, a pair of Rockford Fosgate 6.5" components in the rear panels, pioneer 6.5"s in the doors, and sony 6x9's in the rear parcel shelf, the bass was SOOOOOOOO crystal clear and still quite punchy. All the 12's really added was that low, almost inaudible seat-of-your-pants, move your shirt type bass. I guess i'm trying to say that if you are looking for EXCELLENT sound quality bass, try a simple 8" sub in the center console with some good components. The audible bass is just about the same as with 12's, and is OH so much clearer. I think that even a set of 8's under the front seats in small sealed boxes would provide excellent bass also. Anyways, just thought i'd share my new experience with bass quality.
