I'm looking at a '90 900S w/ 150k mile with a very nice interior and exterior (rust free!) to replace my expired '87. I could tell it had some mechanical problems, so I took it to my mechanic for a check over and got a shock- Leaking head gasket; clutch shot; inner drivers worn; shock bushings, sway arm bushings, and alternater bushings need replacement; oil pump service necessary (leaking); front brake rotors warped; and a hole in the catalytic converter which is welded to the front pipe! Was quoted $3200 - $3800 (plus tax) to do the work. Is putting this kind of $$ into a car with 150K a good idea, even if I can get it cheap? The body is very nice. Thank you for any and all opinions.
