Warm air=bad performance

I don’t know if this is true with other owners but my '89 900T performs pretty lousy during the day now that spring is here and its getting warmer. During the fall and winter the car performed so well it makes me sad to see how it does now. The engine also gets hot really quick and what I’ve noticed with Saabs is that the hotter the engine gets the weaker the overall performance. Is there anything I can do upgrade wise to get equal or better performance during a spring or summer day that I used to have in the fall and winter seasons? Thanks
