I've got a 85 900S that I've been working on...

Of course, last night, just 1 day after getting the new flywheel and starter going, my muffler or a pipe goes. DAMN! Oh well...

I was thinking of just getting one of the Midas jobs or something on that order. However, I've found an 81 parts car that I might be interested in that claims new muffler and various other parts.

I could possibly use a parts car (I'm about ready to jump off the deep end apparently - this Saab thing is turning into a sickness). Can anyone comment on compatibility of the following components between an 85 900S (8 Valve) and 81 900:

Muffler/cat/exhaust?
Front/Rear lighting?
Radiator?
Brake Components?
Steering Rack?
Interior Components?
Engine Components?
Alternator?

Incidentally, my 85 could use
* a complete brake job (at least 1 caliper, rotors, pads, etc). Should I consider used parts (calipers and rotors in particular?)
* A couple lighting assemblies
* Steering rack (small leak - not serious right now)
* Muffler or possibly a pipe - haven't insected since it broke
* Ball joints and CV boots

Between the brake costs (caliper and rotors) and possibly some of the exhaust components, the car could probably pay for itself. Too bad the colors probably don't match... Oh well.
