Hi. I have 1988 SAAB 900 3 spd automatic.
Right now, I am having some problems with the car. Before I bring it to the shop, I would like other's opinions about my problem.
About two months ago, I did a major tune-ups. So, I thought nothing could go wrong, but recently, I have been having problem starting up my car. It would start fine, but as soon as engine starts up, I could feel the engine is having very difficult time maintaining idle engine speed. Often, Rev will drop considerably and engine will stop unless I start pumping gas pedal. In order to fix this problem, I often rev up engine to 2,000 or above for a couple of minutes. Then, it will be fine. Once I operate my car more than ten or so minutes, then I didn't have start-up problem any more. Do you think this is caused by lack of warm up? If I don't warm up the car, it is certain that the engine will stop.
Another problem I am having is the brake. When I turn on the AC unit, my break seems to lose pressure. When I first put pressure on the break, I can feel the car slowing, but as the car slows down, the break will slowly sink in. I couldn't feel the constant pressure from the break. And the break pedal will be on the lowest position if I just apply constant pressure on the break. If I lift the break and re-apply the break, then I can feel the pressure back again, but soon, it will go away as I hold the break. And, when I turn off my ac, this will stop. Do you think anything is might be leaking or broke? Or just natural when operating AC?
