I am currently getting low base boost on my 87 900TC. Base boost is 3psi. Wastegate was previously adjusted to the recommended 5.5 psi. Then a few months later base boost hits only 3 psi. Max boost w/ APC solenoid plugged in is correspondingly 6-6.5 psi. Not good! So I swapped out my Turbo and wastegate w/ the recently rebuilt unit from my parts stash and I get the same response. The replacement unit had also previously had it's wste gate adjusted to almost 6 psi. OK both wastegates could be trashed but that is a low probability. Both wastegates had been adjusted to near max shortening of the wastegate rods to get desired base boost setting. Any suggestions on my problem? Leaking induction hoses or intercooler under pressure? Exhaust restriction? I think I'll unhook the APC solenoid line to wastegate to see if I get runaway boost.
