Just upgraded my '88 900. The base model (as opposed to 900S
or turbo) didn't come w/ anti-sway bars, but has the holes pre-drilled
for them. I went to a junk yard and picked up front and rear bars for
$50 each. The front one has 4 brackets that bolt on (2 near P/S rack,
2 on lower control arms via ball joint bolts.) The rear one bolts
on to the trailing links; you will need to replace the existing trailing
link bolts with longer ones (M12 x 90, and M12 x 150). Warning ! These can be hard to find ! I ended up looking up "bolts" in the yellow pages
and finding a wholesale only distributor. Use at least grade 8.8.
The improvement is astounding ! I can swoosh around coners way faster
than before, w/ no perceptible leaning. Definitely worth the $100.
Note: there *is* a diagonal bar in the rear (Panhard rod ?) which is
different than the anti-sway bar. The rear anti-sway essntially runs
between the lower end of the rear shocks.
I'd definitely eecommend this upgrade to anybody without anti-sways.
Cheap, easy, and makes an amazing difference.
Jeff
